The unfortunate truth is that truck accidents frequently take place in the United States. Many of these accidents are a result of some form of negligence. When people are reckless and negligent while operating these vehicles, it can lead to serious consequences. Unfortunately, when people are hurt in accidents, they often face significant financial consequences.
After being injured in a truck accident, you can file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. When it comes to truck accident lawsuits, there are several parties that can be held liable for any resulting injuries and damages. In most cases, legal claims are filed against the drivers of the trucks. These claims usually involve instances where drivers are speeding, reckless, or even intoxicated.
The trucking company may also be held liable for any resulting injuries or damages if they failed to maintain their vehicle properly if they did not train their drivers correctly, or if they hired unqualified drivers.
Additionally, shippers and cargo loaders may share responsibility for a crash if improper loading contributed to the accident. Overloaded trailers or unsecured cargo can cause a driver to lose control and collide with another vehicle on the road.
