Spartanburg County, SC (September 21, 2023) – A fatal truck accident reported in Spartanburg County claimed one person’s life. The accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on September 20.
Reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol show that an armored truck and a dump truck collided on South Pine Street at the intersection of Whitestone Glendale Road.
The impact of the collision caused the armored truck to catch on fire. The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside and unable to escape.
Multiple firefighters responded to the scene to battle the blaze. Authorities were able to pull the victim from the armored truck. However, the victim suffered fatal injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased.
One additional driver was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries.
At this time, the crash is being investigated.
