Stockton, CA (October 23, 2023) – A pedestrian accident reported on Saturday morning in the Stockton area claimed one person’s life.
Just after 6:15 a.m. on October 21, the California Highway Patrol troopers out of Stockton were called to the scene of a crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
Investigations show that a semi-truck and multiple vehicles were involved in a crash on the southbound side of Interstate 5. Due to unknown circumstances, a pedestrian was struck by the semi-truck in the area near the off-ramp for Fremont Street. The pedestrian was then struck by multiple other vehicles.
The California Highway Patrol responded and shut down the highway.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead on site as a result of their injuries. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
