Tijeras, NM – Fatal Truck Crash Reported on I-40 near MM 175

Tijeras, NM (October 23, 2023) – One person was pronounced deceased at the scene of an automobile accident that took place in Bernalillo County on Sunday evening.

At around 4:20 p.m. on October 22, the New Mexico Department of Transportation reported that an automobile collision occurred on Interstate 40.

Official reports show that a semi-truck and one additional vehicle collided on the eastbound side of the interstate near mile marker 175. Officials blocked off multiple lanes as they provided assistance.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office confirmed that one person was fatally injured and pronounced dead on site.
