Tiverton, RI (October 18, 2023) – A truck accident reported in the Tiverton area sent a motorcyclist to an area hospital with severe injuries. The accident occurred at around 3:20 p.m. on October 15.
On Sunday, the Tiverton Police Department was notified that they were needed to provide assistance at the scene of a crash on East Road.
According to the police, a 58-year-old man from Somerset, Massachusetts, was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle when his vehicle became involved in a collision with an Amazon delivery truck near the intersection of East Road and Sylvia Road. The police confirmed that the Amazon truck was turning west from Silvia Avenue onto East Road at the time of the accident.
The motorcyclist was severely hurt due to the crash. The victim was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, by Tiverton Rescue. After initial treatment, the motorcyclist was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, where he was admitted into the intensive care unit in critical condition.
At this time, the Tiverton Police Department is investigating.
