Town of Balsam Lake, WI (July 14, 2023) – A fatal truck accident took place in Polk County on Wednesday, July 12, that claimed one person’s life.
Reports from the Polk County Sheriff’s Department show that at approximately 3:40 p.m., a semi-truck and a car collided on US Highway eight near State Highway 46. Reports show that the semi-truck crashed into the eastbound car as it turned at the intersection.
The driver of the car was loaded into a helicopter and flown to Regions Hospital for emergency care. The victim died after arriving.
The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are currently in charge of the crash investigations. No other injuries were reported.
