Valdosta, GA (June 16, 2023) – The Valdosta Police Department responded to the scene of a major truck accident that took place in Valdosta and ended in injuries.
The crash was reported to the police at approximately 6:00 a.m. on June 15.
Official reports provided by the police indicate that multiple vehicles collided on Highway 84 during the morning hours on Thursday. The accident, which involved a log truck, prompted the closure of part of the interstate near the 10000 block of East Hill Avenue.
Multiple first responders were called to the scene to provide assistance. Crews spent an extended time at the scene of the crash as they worked to remove all of the damaged vehicles from the road and reopen the roadway.
Injuries were confirmed as a result of this crash. Paramedics were called to care for victims at the scene. The injured parties that required further medical attention were transported to a local hospital.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
