Warsaw, NY (July 22, 2023) – A major accident reported in the Warsaw area ended in injuries, according to officials. On July 20, emergency crews were dispatched to the site of an accident on Buck Road.
According to reports provided by the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, a semi-truck, and a car collided on Bucks Road in the area of Liberty Street during the morning hours. The incident prompted officials to shut down a portion of the roadway while assisting with the removal of damaged vehicles and debris.
The driver of the car was injured in the crash. The victim was transported by Warsaw Ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. The truck driver was airlifted to Strong Hospital in Rochester by Mercy Flight.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation was requested on-site to help clear the 120 gallons of diesel fuel that spilled out onto the road.
At this time, investigations into the accident are underway.
