West Harrison, IN –Truck Crash Reported on I-74 near Longnecker Rd

West Harrison, IN (June 6, 2023) – Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident that took place in Dearborn County.

The accident took place at approximately 4:45 p.m. on June 5.

According to officials, a semi-truck tractor-trailer and a van collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 74 during the early evening hours. The impact of the crash caused the van to come to rest, blocking the roadway.

The semi-truck went on to the center median. Both directions of travel were blocked as a result of the accident for over three hours as they worked on clearing Longnecker Road.

Medics were called to the scene of the crash to care for injured victims. Those who required further care were transported to local hospitals.
