Wichita, KS (July 26, 2023) – A man lost his life as a result of a truck accident that occurred on Monday evening in the Wichita area. The incident was reported at around 7:00 p.m. on July 24.
According to reports from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was traveling south on the Kansas Turnpike during the evening hours. As the vehicle proceeded down the roadway, it encountered a 31-year-old man who was picking up triangles behind his vehicle on the road. For unknown reasons, the semi-truck crashed into the pedestrian, causing him fatal injuries. The driver of the semi fled the scene.
The driver was later identified as a 55-year-old man from Iowa.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene due to his injuries. No other injuries were reported in this crash.
The incident is being investigated by law enforcement at this time.
